Exterior New Brand Look

Ancon Construction, premier design build construction firm, has entered into partnership with Aldi to build their newest location in Warsaw, IN.  The site will be located along US 30 within the current Menard’s Plaza.  This location will feature the company’s latest brand style that incorporates updated interior design, graphics and signage to give a new twist on the national grocery chain.  In addition to the updated look, the floor layout, shelving and refrigeration areas will feature upgraded equipment that has a modern feel and look.  Construction on the new store is slated to begin end of the month.

Updated Interior Brand

In addition to the new store in Warsaw, Ancon Construction is also expanding and re-branding the existing store in Goshen, IN located along US 33.  The project will consist of enlarging the floor space an additional 18 feet and updating the interior to reflect Aldi’s latest branding concept.  Construction is expected to begin in March on the re-brand and expansion of the Goshen location.

Aldi is under going a nationwide re-brand process aimed at positioning the grocery giant in direct competition with organic grocers such as Whole Foods.  Their move to all organic produce has attracted an entire new wave of customers.  To learn more about Aldi and their re-branding check out the story HERE.

Primal Kitchen Chooses Ancon Construction For New Restaurant!

Primal Kitchen Chooses Ancon Construction For New Restaurant!

Primal Kitchen is a name you may not be familiar with…but if all goes as planned they could quickly become a household name.  Thomas and Tara Olson are the local Mishawaka franchise owner’s of Primal Kitchen which is opening the first four locations nationwide, the first here in the heart of Michiana.

Heritage Square will be the new home of the first Primal Kitchen to open in the United States.  The former New Balance location will be transformed to a quick casual farm to fork restaurant complete with a small retail store area where customers can purchase Primal Kitchen’s own line of specialty items such as mayo, natural granola bars and health supplements.  Check out their shop page here to learn more about their products.

When asked why the Primal Kitchen concept appealed to them Tara Olson said, “From the moment we learned of the opportunity to be a part of this concept we knew it was something we had to do.  The ability to offer the community a healthy option in a fast casual setting was very appealing to us.  All of our ingredients will be organic and free of GMO’s.  We will have a wonderfully diverse menu with something for everyone.  Attached to the restaurant will be a dynamic grab and go cafe which boasts a coffee, juice and smoothie bar along with freshly made packaged chef specials which are perfect for the consumer on the go.  Whether you are meeting friends for breakfast after your workout, grabbing lunch with your coworkers or joining us for your family dinner we know you will not be disappointed.”

Ancon Construction was chosen as the builder for this location.  Ryan Kring, Vice President of Business Development, commented, “When we heard that Thomas and Tara chose us to build their restaurant we were very excited.  Being the first location ever is like potentially building the first Panera or Chipolte ….  who knows where this could go from here”.  Kring went on to say, “Working with the national franchise, based out of Phoenix, has been a good experience.  They know their brand and have a vision.  We love taking their conceptual ideas and bringing them to life.  We understand the trust they are giving us and we do not take it lightly”.

ANCON’s Own Awarded an Awesome Fund Grant!

ANCON’s Own Awarded an Awesome Fund Grant!

The Awesome Foundation was started in 2009 with a mission to create a global community to “advance the interest of awesome in the universe, $1,000 at a time”.  Each local autonomous chapter supports awesome projects through micro grants, typically given out quarterly.  Each chapter interprets “awesome” for itself.  As a result, projects vary in a wide variety of areas such as the arts, technology, community development and more.  The process is simple, submit your awesome idea through the website and if you are chosen as a finalist, you are asked to put on a 3-5 minute presentation on why your project is deserving of a grant.

Newly Married Couple Using The People Frame

That is exactly what Ryan Kring, VP Of Business Development for Ancon Construction, did with his awesome idea of a “People Frame”.  What is a people frame?  When asked Kring said, “Everyone knows what a picture frame is.  Small frame that holds a picture of a memory.  A people frame is a larger than life open frame that people can climb into, create a memory while having an experience.  They are strategically placed in a scenic location or somewhere where the background makes an interesting backdrop.  Often times you will see newly married husband and wife having a wedding picture inside one…or a group of friends.  It is an opportunity to make an experience larger than life”.  Kring also added, “We are going to combine this with existing City of South Bend social media marketing campaigns to spread the word of not only people’s experience but of South Bend as well.”

Ryan presented last night along with 11 other finalists and he was one of three projects awarded a grant.  The $1,000 grant will not cover the full cost of fabrication and installation of his people frame but he has reached out to several regional businesses who are highly interested in providing the remaining funding to finish the project.
